Goin' Green: Tip of the Week...
Buy Compact Flourescent Light Bulbs (CFL's)
Purchasing these new types of light bulbs can save you up to $30 in lighting over the life of the bulb, as well as cut down on your air conditioning bill due to the fact that CFL's burn 75% cooler than regular incandescent light bulbs. Instead of purchasing enough for every lamp in your home, just plan on buying 2 or 3 at a time.
Eventually your entire home will have "green" lighting!
In case you missed last week's tip:
Turn off the computer at night or during the day while everyone is out of the home. Doing so can save you up to $90.00 per year and save all of us a lot of energy!

To My Reading & Writing Students:
This year I will also have the pleasure of working with a small group of students in 1st and 3rd Grade for Reading Intervention and 4th Grade students in the area of Writing. As the year progresses, families of students I am working with in these areas can click on the corresponding links above to find activities and ideas that can be done at home to enrich academic success at school.
